Based on our 25 years long experience in sheets counting, at the end two years of research and development, we have realized the New Counting Head with "ADR 32" technology for single and twin heads counters and for automatic counters of the PACK MOVER line.

The ADR 32 system keep the keys benefits of Dual System Technology counting  created by B.Matic in 1993 that counts with twin aspiration palettes without corner deformation nor scratching and having the widest counting range on the market.ADR 32 has tripled the counting speed and improved the accuracy on thin sheets thanks to a new mechanical core and the latest generation electronic. ADR 32has been designed and realized to meet the severe standards of currency sheets counting but it is perfect also for the commercial printing, converting and packaging applications.

ADR 32 technology counting heads will be installed in a short time on the new sheets counting machines with single and twin heads and on the automatic sheets counters system PACK MOVER. Multiple versions to meet specific requirements in the security and high security printing, commercial printing, converting and packaging.

These are the key points:

1-Sheets friendly counting system, not curling and not scratching the cornerADR 32 draws on Dual System technology and further improves the contact on the sheets surface under the four following aspects:

A - The mechanical assembly does not rest on the sheets

B - The counting hands trajectory reaches the sheets edge from the top without touching and without side insertion, therefore without scratching.

C - The ADR 32 does not involve turning pins introduction into the pack.

D - The counting plates  are made of special anti-scratch material.

2-Mechanical group completely redesigned to reach 3.000 sheets per minute also during tab insertion (+200% with respect to the traditional Dual System).

3-Tab insertion system working accurately at high speed, slowing down the operations for fraction of second only.

4-Optic fibre technology to intercept ,"see" and count in a few microseconds time the sheets aspirated one by one by the counting hands. In the security version a simultaneous cross checking is executed on every counting head.

5-Counting head positioning system driven by optic fibre technology adapting better to deformed surfaces and, unlike competing technologies, keeps a few tenths of millimetres off the sheets without touching, therefore not curling nor scratching the sheets.

6-Rapid and easy adjustment for sheets thickness with "Easy Clips" system to change the counting plates in few seconds

7-Counting paper, cardboard and plastic sheets, from 40 to 800 μM  thickness (depending on the paper counter models.

8-Optional pack lifting group with synchronized pushers to relieve the pressure of very thick packs on the mechanical assembly in order to reduce the wear  and vibrations.

9-High resolution wide touch screen with USB/Ethernet connections and SD memory card.

10-Icon interface, modern software with advanced functions and diagnostic tools.

ADR 32 technology counting heads will be installed on the new sheets counting machines with single and twin heads and on the automatic sheets counters system PACK MOVER. Multiple versions to meet specific requirements in the security and high security printing, commercial printing, converting and packaging.

Technological updates Protec ADR 32 sheet counter machines
Since the first version of ADR 32 technology, our Research and Development department has carried out a series of updates that contribute to the improvement of operations with the system in general, including:
-New generation "Stabilizer" with 4 blades even more effective with deformed sheets and applicable also to medium-thickness boards
-Tab inserter with opening door system for easier feeding of the tape when replacing the reel and adjustable deflector for optimal insertion of tabs even with very deformed reams.
- Sheet curvature correction device. This accessory allows to count boards with downwards bent corners and / or sheets not resting on the table. It can be mounted in a few seconds on the edge of the table.
-Software updated with numerous improvements both for operation and for diagnostics
-"Resizer" renewed. This useful accessory has been completely redesigned and allows to count small size sheets in a simpler and more efficient way.
-More robust and accurate fiber optic level system.

R&D Department: Our research and development department in continuous activity accepts advice on operation and use.

The OCS Technology for friction feeders

Further to an in depth analysis associated with a 25 years long experience, B.Matic has invented the new friction feeder with OCS (Opposing Cantilever Shafts) technology (patent pending). This technology, besides an excellent performance, delivers a solution for a few technical issues  affecting the friction feeders presently on the market.
1. Solves the problem of the periodical replacement of the friction belts subject to wear and of the feeding belts, simplifying the task and cutting  down times and does not require specialized technicians.
2. Allows quick adjustment to product width, shifting by turning one single knob all the mechanical separating assembly, (including all the rollers, belts, et cetera ) cutting substantially the set-up time.
3- Perfect parallelism. The twin opposing signaling mechanical assemblies are adjusted independently, keeping their parallel position even dealing with non uniformly thick sheets.
Mechanics have been realized for industrial use with the latest technologies and CNC precisions actually available; all parts have been protected with surface treatments,
all axial motions, realized on hardened ball recycling guideways, all adjustment are guided by graduated scales.
A key feature of the F320 friction feeder / counter is the effectivness in sheets separation. This is achieved by a mechanical gears system that runs the ejection belts at higher speed than the feeding belts thus "snatching" the sheet form the next one and creating a gap beteen them. This ability to separate the sheet is key to the friciton feeders
and friciton counters.

The DUAL SYSTEM Technology

The PROTEC paper counters and sheets counters line is equipped with the new mechanical counting head, realised on DUAL SYSTEM technology, which is based on the presence of a couple of aspiration plates. Counting is not done through optical devices or statistical calculations, instead sheets are physically counted one by one.

DUAL SYSTEM paper counting technology is unique because:

1 - Sheets are counted from the top downwards. Once counted, sheets are taken away from the top of the stack rather than from the bottom. This way, the operator counts as many sheets as he needs, making the job easier.
2- The sheet counter can support a wide range of paper weights (from 40GSM to 500-800GSM approx)
3-  Curling up of corners, a typical problem with traditional paper counters  (especially with paper over 100GSM) is eliminated or extremely reduced.
4- Marks, scratches or signs of ink on recent prints are practically imperceptible or extremely reduced if compared to traditional paper counting systems.
5- Changeover between different material weights is performed quickly and easily by manually removing the small plastic plates. No tools are necessary. Average time: 30 seconds. This means granting the maximumproduction capacity of the machine.

The DUAL SYSTEM technology is installed on:

- all PROTEC and PROTEC MINI paper counters and sheets counters

- all PROTEC PACK MOVERS sheets counting equipment.

The DOUBLE RIBBING technology is one of the core elements for our sheets counters working.

A double ribbing is impressed on the tabs, so that they come out straight from the beginning to the end of the tape: it makes it possible to use thinner paper (80GSM), granting a compact external diameter of the roll and twice the autonomy of common roll.

The PACK MOVER, a new system to count directly from the pile

PACK MOVER line allows sheets counting directly from the pile eliminating the load /unload problem typical of traditional paper counters. The input pile is automatically aligned to the counting head.
It is the latest evolution of PROTEC line, physically counting the paper sheets one by one with the versatility, precision and reliability of DUAL SYSTEM. technology.
All PACK MOVERs count directly from the pile and pick the counted pack to lay it on a conveyor.
They may automatically feed the following in line steps: cutting, binding and packaging.
Or they can perform additional tasks, such as optical verifications, front and back covers insertion, saddle stitching, and film wrapping.
It is the ideal solution for those needing to count and batch big quantities of sheets to be finished and packaged.
