Welcome to B.MATIC

Innovetors by Passion

THE BEGINNING: the Origin of an Idea

From his family’s experience in the printing industry, Sergio Bertasi founded B.MATIC S.r.l in 1986, and in a short time developed a series of counter-rises devices designed primarily for the sheet stacks of printing presses. Numerous requests came from important customers throughout the aforementioned Italian industry.

Once a solid reputation had been built up, it was the customers themselves who requested the supply of new sheet-counting machines for stacks and reams so that the quantity of sheets could also be checked later. Other manufacturers of such machines were already present in the global market, but Mr Bertasi decided that the future of the company lay in that direction: B.MATIC began to develop an original and innovative system to distinguish itself from the competition and revolutionise the market.

DUAL SYSTEM TECHNOLOGY

In 1992, the first “Protec” sheet counter was invented and presented, based on the world’s unique technology renamed “DualSystem” capable of counting and dividing even very thick sheets without deforming the edge, directly from the ream. One of the key features of this technology was the top-to-bottom sheet counting, which enabled us to introduce the second decisive innovation.

Some of these old models have been imitated by some of our competitors: for B.MATIC this is nothing but a source of pride because it is confirmation of our technological farsightedness.

Pursuing Greatness

PACK MOVER: the 100% Automatic Sheet Counter

In the early years of the third millennium, the company’s production site moved to a new, larger facility in line with B.MATIC’s growth in the global market.

It was during those years that the first “PACKMOVER” was designed and built, the only sheet counter in the world capable of counting, picking up and moving reams of sheets directly from the stack.

The PACKMOVER was also the first machine capable of automatically feeding additional machinery for cutting, binding and bundling. Other operations, such as checking sheets, inserting underlays and covers, punching and wrapping in cellophane, can also be performed.

The ultimate solution for those who need to count and sort large volumes of sheets for finishing or bundling operations such as in the security printing industry.

Constant technology development and subsequent refinements have brought our systems to the stability and reliability that can only be achieved with decades of experience.

ADR32 Technology

ADR32 technology: the power of the future

A further leap forward came in 2015 when the ADR32 Technology was introduced: this represents a redesigned and enhanced version of the Dual System.

The features that had distinguished the previous technology were confirmed and improved such as the gentleness on the sheet that allows counting without bending and scratching the edge for a sheet range of up to 800 GSM . However, the real innovation achieved with the ADR32 was the increased counting speed of up to 3000 sheets/min.

The New Protec Models: from PackMover ADR32 to Twin Head

Together with the new ADR32 counting head, the new Protec ST and CM (or mini) single-head counting machines were also presented, including tailor-made solutions for the main sheet problems. A few years later, a new double-head counting model specifically designed for counting securities and security documents, the TwinHead, was also presented.

In 2018, the implementation of ADR32 technology on the PackMover model made the unique model presented 10 years earlier more competitive.

Technologia OCS

F320 Feeder with OCS Technology: a new world opens up

As early as the first decade of the 2000s, B.MATIC was already devising thickness counting solutions for other sectors such as packaging. Thus began the production of friction feeders for counting small format sheets, credit cards, envelopes and cardboard such as small packaging.

OCS Technology is not only innovative, but is completely revolutionary in the field of friction feeders and sheet feeders, as format change and belt replacement has become a matter of seconds and no longer time-consuming and tedious.

A complex electronic system aids the sheeting in such a way that the machine is not only moving pieces but also counting them while doing so, thanks to the use of encoders and inverters. Later, models were also introduced with variable data reading and printing systems.
